Free Corneal transplant gives new hope

A Knysna resident who lost his job after going blind six years ago has new hope after a corneal transplant, an ultra delicate operation performed on him at the George Surgical Centre in George last week. Our gift to the community for Eye Care Awareness Month

Garden Route Eye Clinic supports National Eye Care Awareness month. To lessen the burden on our Provincial Hospitals, we are performing cataract surgeries during October at George Surgical Centre for patients in our community who cannot afford private healthcare. A total of 40 cataract surgeries will be performed and 1 strabismus surgery. All our surgeons at Garden Route Eye Clinic perform these surgeries free of charge.

George Surgical Centre Opens Its Doors

Anticipation is building towards the official opening ceremony of the George Surgical Centre on Monday, 29 October 2012. This world-class facility will be the first private hospital dedicated to Eye Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery in the Southern Cape. 1 000th Patient At George Surgical Centre

Dr. Johannes Meyer operated on the 1 000th patient at George Surgical Centre, Mrs Marlene Orlet from George on the 5th of February 2013. This is a remarkable milestone, seeing that this brand new day hospital has been open only for five months on the date of its 1 000th surgery.
