Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL) is the perfect answer for our patients whose eyes are not suitable for LASER correction, perhaps because of an out of range prescription for LASER, irregular corneas and patients with a high degree of hyperopia and myopia. Without any injections or stitches, the ICL treatment can correct very high short and long sight and even astigmatism.
Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL) are permanent miniature contact lenses, made of collamer, which are implanted inside the eye to correct vision. The lens is implanted behind the iris in front of the natural lens of the eye. The treatment is performed on one eye at a time and the procedure takes about 30 minutes per eye and you will experience minimal discomfort and should allow yourself three day’s recuperation after the surgery.
The advantages of the ICL are:
- Biocompatible with eye
- Excellent quality of sharp, high definition vision
- Invisible
- Stable results
- Removable (if necessary)
