Doctor Richard Faul

Richard foto nuut web Doctor Richard Faul has a special interest and extensive experience in cataract, strabismus as well as glaucoma surgery. He also has experience and an interest in refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK and now also TESA).

His international studies are well applied – ensuring his skills being a great asset to the Garden Route Eye Clinic.

Dr Faul consults in George at 44 CJ Langenhoven Street. Contact 044 873 0126. He also travels to Oudtshoorn to consult.

Dr Richard Faul obtained a MBBCh degree from the University of Witwatersrand in 1989.

After his housemanship at Baragwanath Hospital, he spent a short time doing general and emergency medicine in Pretoria and Johannesburg.

He then joined the Ophthalmology Department at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria, after which he specialised in Ophthalmology at the University of Stellenbosch where he obtained the MMed degree (cum laude) and was admitted as a Fellow of the College of Surgeons.

Garden Route Eye Clinic has consulting rooms in Knysna and George, as well as in Oudtshoorn and Riversdale bringing eye care closer to home in the Southern Cape. Specialist eye surgery is performed at George Surgical Centre. We also perform surgery in Knysna.

The George Surgical Centre, established in 2012, is a world-class day hospital dedicated to modern Eye Surgery. Other procedures such as Cosmetic Surgery, is also performed here. Easy access via George Airport enables service delivery to patients from other areas outside the Southern Cape.

We treat a very wide variety of conditions ranging from dry eyes and infections, to cataracts and retinal dysfunctions. Our ophthalmologists are skilled to diagnose even rare eye conditions and unusual visual disorders.
